Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

SCS SB 1117 -- MISSOURI RX PLAN ADVISORY COMMISSION

SPONSOR:  Stouffer (Bruns)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Health Care Policy by a vote of 9 to 0.

This substitute transfers the Missouri Rx Plan Advisory
Commission from the Department of Health and Senior Services to
the Department of Social Services.  The provisions regarding the
denial of eligibility to individuals enrolled in Medicare
Advantage Plans are removed.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2007, FY 2008, and
FY 2009.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say the bill is necessary to make
corrections to the laws enacted by Senate Bill 539 in 2005 which
established the Missouri Rx Plan Advisory Commission within the
Department of Health and Senior Services.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Stouffer; and Office of the
Lieutenant Governor.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
